The Journey Worth The Pain

All those conflicted battles

As each of us rattles

On and on, for petty reasons

I inform myself again

That they were all worth the pain

To be as vaguely varied as all seasons.

Like brooks that stream on,

Regardless of dusk and dawn,

They turned my face towards the real stars.

Who cares about pebbles skirting a river,

When you have your own bridge to walk over

That can even be built from Earth to Mars?

With giggles and laughter,

Smirks and endless chatter,

That filled up memorable thoughts and dreams,

Taking seats in the mental theatre,

Snacking in popcorn and juices down our overwhelmed throats,

They garnish all those intended memes.

Flipping pages, lingering on each other’s souls,

Connected aspirations to actions performed-

All of these will never be again gained.

Online chatting, destined debating,

Every word of argument and agony spoken

Was certainly worth the pain.
