The Journey

A blind covers my eyes

As I walk through the forest

I hear the birds chirping at a distance

The flowy white dress I wear

Embraces my body

I know it’s white because I’ve heard them say so

And flowy because I feel so

My feet walk on the ground slowly

It sometimes touches soft grass

And sometimes spiky pebbles

I walk on the path

As the trees guide me

I graze their aged barks

As I pass by them

Going wherever they take me

Up the slope or down the hill

After a long journey

I reach out my hand like I always do

To find no more trees to guide me

I walk a little further on my own

To feel a light breeze on my face

Telling me to stop walking

I open the blind covering my eyes

And realise that I’m standing on a high cliff

With a vast scenery below me

I sit on the edge of the cliff

And look at my dirty and bruised feet

And my white dress that remains pristine

My gaze shifts from my feet to the ground below

The height doesn’t scare me

I lay on my back as I realise that

It’s the end of my journey.
