The Indelible Void

Smiling with a broken heart,

Staring at fearful skies as your soul departs.

While rivers stream down my eyes,

They all say their last goodbyes. 

I have always held myself upright.

But now, without you,

The sun burns without the bliss of daylight.

Now, in your absence,

Hope feels like an organized lie.

I am a novice to the world without you,

My favourite sky has suddenly lost its hue.

The world isn't all pink and white.

Oh, there is a void inside.

The child who cried,

The mother who denied,

The father who was too shattered to speak a line,

And a family, who couldn't comprehend this demise.

How do we pretend that it's all fine?

When you were the only hope for her to survive.

Dear heaven, or wherever it is that my beloved rests,

Please send a message to my dearest,

Goodbye sunshine, our last ray, 

We shall miss you with each passing day.

For your peace, my darling, we shall always pray.

Until we meet next,

Until we meet again.
