THE HOURGLASS, THE SAND & THE CLOCK
The hourglass doesn't wait,
It turns its course,
Upside down.
The sand never slithers slow,
It slips away before you can hold it for too long.
The hands of the clock tick away,
They won't pause, no matter how long you set your gaze upon them.
It's a rhythm.
It's a routine.
She repeats in her head.
“No one will ever stay, no one will choose to stay.
Just like the hourglass, the sand, and the clock;
It's all about the timing, not your fault.”
She reassures herself.
But thoughts gnaw.
They dig and dig before they consume.
“Maybe, probably...” her own mind betrays her.
She walked into the trap she laid for herself.
