The Hopeless Romantic

The mind wanted the heart to stop loving

but the heart paid no heed,

he gave it his all only to be freed.

Freed from the cycle, freed from the hatred of love.

The heart could only collect its pieces,

only to be freed yet again,

in the same manner as it was.

Broken, shattered and battered.

this cycle of freedom just makes those pieces smaller and smaller,

O, Lord! why is this heart so stubborn,

loves and trusts all only to be broken.

The heart, a hopeless romantic

is always frantic.

Frantic to mend himself, frantic to free himself from the bonds of worldly love

but, with his pieces so many more

he just cant seem to find the right lore.

Alas, it breaks into a thousand pieces,

one missing each time it gets pierced.

What is this freedom that this heart craves,

only to be broken digging his own grave.

But whatever it may be, love is what the heart yearns for,

one sided love it may be, but pure shall it be.

O, brave heart don’t fall in love yet again,

or you’ll just broken yet again..
