THE HOME

By K. Ajith

Once upon a time, there lived a "Forestry Officer" along with his family. One day, the officer went to a forest with his team to cut down trees in accordance with government regulations. The officer and his team got to work. All of the animals and birds expressed their grief at losing their home while the trees were being cut down.

All animals screamed, birds flew around the forest, and expressing their sadness. But they continued, and finished cutting the trees up to a certain point in the forest. Then officer and his team returned home after completion of their duty.

The following morning, the Road Construction Department demolished the officer's home for failing to follow the rules outlined in that government's acts and regulations. Then officer requested them to not demolish his home. At the time, he realized the sorrow of animals and birds who had lost their home. Officer then went to the forest with his family and planted trees. All of the animals and birds in the forest were excited to see this. This realization and lesson made him to start planting a tree every month.
