The Holy Ritual

Your deep trembling inhales,
like a fresh volume of trust pooled all in through your cavities
As your palm clenches tightly against mine
And your long fingers locked against the interspaces of mine
Like a puzzle solved into totality.
Your deep shaky exhales in haste,
like a momentary leisure to catch up the breath you just lost.
I feel your breath pierce through my ears
Whispering vows of desire and utmost faith,
Murmuring pleads to stay till the ocean's crossed.
I get oblivious to the pain caused
by your painted nails
pressing down on my skin and flesh;
And you get oblivious to the tilted photo frame, the unfixed leaking tap, the broken window pane, the fidgety mice, the lumps on the mattress and the squeaking-slow ceiling fan—
As we both sweat into each other
Exchanging love through our salty bodies and sugary hearts that melt in the heat.
Pressing chest to chest, and thigh to thigh, and toe to toe
As the combined harmony of breaths and beats make a rhythmic melody.
We clench our souls tightly together
As they create the unity for the eternal pleasure
As the rhythmic spasms both yours and mine
Marry ourselves in the rhythm divine.
The world feels innocent, the weather feels lighter
The monday morning should feel better-brighter.
I think this is all— and all I could've longed for
You're the one to serenade to, and write all my songs for.
