The Heart’s Cry

Please.

Please be gentle to my owner.

I'm broken and unhealed, vulnerable to any attack.

You see the present but not the past, you see the cover but not the story.

Please be gentle to my owner.

The anger, the resentment, the low self esteem is just a reaction to the hurt that's bottled up inside.

It's a reflex to not face the hurt, because the hurt hurts so badly.

I bleed with the pain of the past, but I'm somewhere where no one sees but the Lord Almighty.

My wounds are pierced continually with the unforgiving hurt.

Who is there to guide my owner? If everyone judges, criticizes and shuns her, who will help me to heal?

I long to be whole again. I feel the impact of the taunting memories each day, each time.

Please be gentle to my owner.

I'm no longer broken, I'm shattered.

More breaks, more hurt, more pain...

It will take longer to heal...

But who is there to guide her?

Please, please be gentle to my owner.

Can no one see me behind the facade that she puts forth? Behind the constant laughter or anger or risky behaviours?

Behind the reality that she creates to 'protect' herself without knowing she's just hurting herself.

Where are the mentors? And the emotional physicians?

My girl needs you. With every outburst, it is a desperate cry for help. While she can escape the predators and the stimuli, she can never outrun her true enemy; the hurt she holds onto inside.

Show her she can be healed, show her she deserves to love and to love herself, show her the beauty of her smile.

Oh, that genuine smile I long to see.

One broken person can have a domino effect on others. Likewise, one healed person can have a domino effect on others too.

Thank you for being gentle to my owner.

Thank you for helping her to heal and to overcome.

Thank you for ridding me of these wounds that worsens each day.

I am now healed, I am brand new.
