The Haunted House

By Saumya Chawla

I was scared to let you in my house,

And see how messy everything is.

The way my thoughts are scattered everywhere,

With my insecurities hidden perfectly.

The way the glasses are shattered covered with my blood,

Or the burning candles calling me to them.

You'll see the ashes of my soul everywhere,

Covered in flowers to hide its ugliness,

You'll realise how even my soul is ugly, let alone my face.

You'll see how tormented i was in life's every phase.

I was scared to let you in,

But you are inside now.

I am trying to tidy things one by one,

But my overthinking keeps spilling and fucking everything up.

You see what mess i live in,

And you'll leave as well.
