The Hardest Goodbye Ever Said!

By Bandaru Vaathsalya Sree

Childhood is the second gift we get. The first being birth itself. The beautiful years of joy, sorrow, anxiety, embarrassment, excitement, innocence and learning. In this precious period, those invaluable people accompany us called friends.

When it is over, we fall into an invisible race where even friends become foes, where cruelty plays the major role and morals play the minor roles. The only key to survive is to keep running. Whether like it or not we have to do it, for it is not a choice but the way of life.

It was the last day of our boards and we all had done well. Hearts filled with emotions, we looked at each other, unable to utter words. Some were in tears, some were depressed. I was making the best of the moments left with my friend. We embraced bidding each other a silent farewell.

Goodbye to my friend and my childhood.
