The Guardian Of My Joy

He walks through shadows I’ll never see,

A silent guardian, steadfast and free.

Not for himself does he labor and strive,

But for the light in my eyes to thrive.

His dreams, he folds like paper boats,

Setting them adrift, while mine he promotes.

Sleepless nights, yet he never complains,

Bearing the weight of love’s sweet pains.

Tears in my eyes, a sight he can’t bear,

He erases my sorrow with tender care.

I’m his jewel, his unspoken pride,

The compass that keeps his soul alive.

Others may lack what I hold so near,

A father whose love conquers every fear.

For those without, my heart softly aches,

Yet I vow to cherish the bond he makes.

A lifetime of love, unsaid but shown,

A sacrifice so deep, I’ve only half known.

To my father, my hero, my guiding light,

I’ll honor his heart with all my might.
