The Granite Pulse
The creek in the mountain
Though just trickle,
It's cutting a path
Through the granite.
Drip, drop, drip, drop.
Sunset, sunrise
Every day seems the same
Unless at some time
You look around and up.
On a day when it pours
Sacred water from heavens
Every drip and the drop
Turn to white water jostle.
When its windy enough
Little fountains blast
Turning creek in ravine
Into screeching mayhem.
Hail or rain day can bring.
And whatever it is
That god sends in today.
The creek turns it to grind
On its path through granite.
