The Goldfish

By Vishakha Choudhary

Swim little fish,

And prove those fools wrong,

Their salivating mouths open,

Barking in the throng.

Swim little fish,

They will laugh anyway,

Give them a show,

A treasure they can’t prey.

Swim little fish,

Your gills inspire envy,

Those wolves don’t matter,

Counting each penny.

Swim little fish,

Your rainbow is near,

Cowards scrape bottom,

Your shine, too dear.

Swim little fish,

The waters are yours.

You are the goldfish,

Soon to be dragon.
