THE GOD WANTS FREEDOM

In temples, mosques and churches

People gather to pray and worship,

Follow different customs and rituals,

Utter hymns from their sacred books.

They have difference in their dresses,

They come from different countries,

Have many religions, caste and creeds

And have difference in colors of skin.

Their scripture and mythology vary,

Some believe in idols, others don’t,

The arguments and views contradict,

Hardly anything are similar in them.

But one thing is common to all of them.

They want wealth, money and fame,

Success in life, recovery from disease,

Win in battle and defeat of their enemy.

Their loud appeals reverberate in walls

Of the temples, mosques and churches.

Day in and day out throughout the world

Echoes of the cries of millions are heard.

Devotees beg inside from the almighty.

Poor people wait spreading their hands

Outside temples, mosques and churches,

Beg alms from the those who come out.

And God repents for having given birth

To millions of beggars who as devotees

Only want things in the name of worship,

Place always long list of their demands.

They hardly know that God eagerly awaits

The real devotee who comes only to thank,

To seek only his blessing , nothing more,

To surrender to Him with a complete faith.

The entire world is abound with his gifts,

His wonderful creations are around us.

Mysteries are huge, mostly unreachable,

Men enjoy them doing nothing in return.

Still their want for more things never end,

They rush madly to the places of worship,

Ask things from God in the name of prayer,

Try to please him with rituals in exchange.

Keeping God in temple, mosque or church,

They demean the ultimate power of him,

They want the creator to oblige their wish

By only rituals that divide one from other.

Prayer is feeling of heart, not a demand,

A way to purify ourselves from the vices,

Unify our small souls to that infinite soul,

The simpler it is, the nearer we are to God.

Salvation from the greed of earthly things,

Is the only way to reach the ultimate one,

The more we demand, further we go.

God now wants freedom from the beggars.
