Alcohol to some is a best friend

To others a night of dread

A drink of disaster or a drink of pleasure

Yet no occasion can go without

It’s that one beverage that brings a crowd together

Or starts a bar fight but

Somehow toasts are celebrated and many memories are made

For some it’s an answer waiting at the end of an empty bottle

Especially when trying to drown out those broken hearts

It buys time to forget, to steal a bit of unwanted memories until the next morning.

When the hangover becomes a reflection that last night was not so great.

Alcohol is not the best and many try to quit it; some succeed and many fail.

It will forever be that one drink that everybody hails.
