The Future

Time seems to be running,

Faster than before,

I can't help but notice the changes.

The birds chirping,

The wind blowing

But my mind's still racing

Can't seem to relax even for a bit,

Constantly worrying about it all.

The future, the present and the past,

"What will I do?"

I ask myself, as I sit on the window.

"What am I doing?"

My mind responds.

"What have I done ?"

The heart says,

As it beats ever so slowly.

At night, I close my eyes,

And I try to sleep,

But my worrying thoughts don't

let me.

My emotions left me,

I can't cry,

I can't smile

All I say is a lie when somebody asks,

"I'm fine, I'm great, I'll do it all."

But only one person knows,

My true fear of the future,

And they say,

"I'm certainly not a topper,

But I';m definitely not a failure either"

And so the world moves on.
