The Forgotten Me
By Shreya Ghoshal
Dusky dust all around,
a ball, a mermaid, waiting beside me,
all covered in brown.
Waiting to see the blaze and adorn the shine,
and to hear all the pleasantly annoying sound.
The unhappy bowl is awaited for some pours,
The glass horse and the rhino..
Don’t know since when are they longing the sandy floors.
Even the pages of the diary are still in strand,
With a silver pen tied with a knitted maudlin band.
People here, this way pass emotions, hand in hand, and
then forget the nonpareil like an abandoned, barren land.
They make several promises
Yeah, now don’t ask whether true or fake,
to the moon and back that they make??
See.. these appealing smiles on my face, don’t they look great!?
The glint in their eyes, of free and happy lives
are nothing more than those lied truths and true lies.
See!! How the time flies.
In this perpetual world of grief and whine
they are few treasured ones, I find to be fine.
Here, you need to accept few things in life in order to survive,
cause in this valley of desolation,
Only acceptance can keep you alive.
These hanging smiles clinging on me will change one day,
to witness the ugly beauty,
new glints will shower happiness again to build the playful clay.
The dallying pair, holding the dawdling time,
With colourfull moments, making the picture quite perfectly sublime.
Hush…
Someone is rattling the plate.
So, here I was out with My Dusky Brown Fate.
Holding their photographs since ages with all my four arms,
I preserved their treasures amidst the sinking sand,
See, today am buried in this grime,
but they still are going to stand,
in their dreamy grin.
