The Flight Of The Fallen

If you were to be the sun,

I would be your Icarus.

For the sun will forever,

Be my undoing.

A fool fated to fall,

Cursed by fate-

Yet loved by the heavens.

As the water claimed my lung,

I could only smile to the melody,

I once had sung.

Before but I fell-

I flew.

And for a fleeting flight,

I felt your clasp.

I would do it all again-

I would burn to ashes,

And smile as I scatter to the wind.
