The Flickering Fairy Lights

What to make out of this
Is as a secret to me as its an enigma
Of what is so trasient and so real
Of what will pass but is held on by a tiny thin thread
A thread of memories and moments
A thread of sighs and gasps
A thread of impossibility for you
And one of improbability for me
For sure I don’t know what shall I make out of this
When years have passed and memory wears thin
When you would have moved on and I am somewhere else
But for me its here, right now
Its real and beautiful
Its true for me, slipping and feeble as the breath that keeps me alive
Its raw, what this is
Unconditioned by whats around
Unconditioned by whats been till now
As Un understandable to me as it must be to you
So let me make you happy while I can
Let me see you smile while I can
Let me drop some tears for old times sake
Let me look at you, without fear of what it would mean
Let me have that piece of your heart
The one you keep in the dark
The part that makes you ache
Share with me all of it, for old times sake
Let me hold your hand
And walk a long road
On a cold windy night
Before I drop you off
To the city with glimmering yellow lights
Let us live with facts we can’t seem to change
The choices we clearly made
