The Final Glimpse

I was here, aching, for a final glimpse.
A barrage of deception – was anything real?
I was here, yearning, for a fleeting facade,
A moment’s peace, the quietest cry of my heart – wasn’t there anything to feel?
I stood here, longing, for a drop of pure symphony,
A breath of honest air – was it too much to ask for?
I stood here, sighing, sowing discord in my own garden,
Tethering my skin – what was it I couldn’t help but ignore?
I sat here, begging: please let me be the one,
Just this singular devotion – was I reading between the lines?
I sat here, crying: please, just a shimmer of truth,
I’ll emerge anew – was I looking through all the signs?
I walked away, serene, like a fragile leaf on a windy day,
Leaving behind a multitude of devotions, I gazed out at the infinite blue.
I walked away, still, and wondered do I look back or keep moving forward?
Somewhere far beyond, distant seas, oceans, and mountains.
