The Fallen Leaves

By Sreeparna Sengupta

The fallen leaves all over the place

Make room for her to seek solace

As she carefully rests amidst the leaves

The Mountain within she slowly heaves

The years that flew in the blink of an eye

Looking back at it as if to pry

She realized where 'She' was spent

Mixed with some joy and some repent

Till the time she wasn't out of her cocoon

Encircled with love care; Gone too soon

When she fluttered her wings looking above

The earth and the skies like a treasure trove

Enticed her towards them shaping her more

She strengthened so much her inner core

Learning to fight her battles all alone

Unknowingly got her loved ones forlorn

The desire to soar rises high each day

Like cinders from a fire not driven away

This insatiable hunger to excel and win

Emerging in everything like a Queen

She let go of things and little did she see

That her soul was bonded, no longer Free

People, duties, skills were all she had

Heart and Mind had taken a backseat tad

Today her real self as she pondered upon

Her wings fatigued through life's sojourn

The Real Her was half lost in the course

The thought of this caused remorse

To be assured that not all is gone

There are still paths to walk alone

Reality Hit her that there was yet a lot

This was less than half the battle fought

But this time Her Soul she swore to regain

Loved ones she would never cause pain

She knew promises are never to be kept

Determinations are 'lived' every second

Gathering herself with a fresh vigor

She took a stride for a path better

So, she shooed away the leaves fallen

That hid her to be never found again

It was the time for her to fly high again

The wings had healed with energy Zen

Once again, she looked up

But this time……………..

She looked around and below

To all that were Prime……………..

And swore again to never let go of them

Seeking forgiveness to the ones in Heaven…..
