The Eternal Turn

A hand rotates a fixed axis

Seen through various frames

Sets the limit within the endless

And a crucial factor in all games.

It drags in sorrowful daze,

Races fast when I am late.

Turns wistful when in a nostalgic haze,

A constant with a changing state.

Befriending time is a daunting task

Where many falter, strive, and fail.

Its path is set from dawn to dusk,

Impartial to both strong and frail.

Through our transient years, let’s wisely tread,

Plan and cherish each day.

Before life’s joys and prime have fled,

Lest time should turn us into its play.
