The Emerald Swan
By V.Mahanth Krishna
Oh girl! Don’t slay me with that smile,
For which I would run and swim for miles,
My love for you knows no real bounds,
Being relentless, flows through you, like the river Nile,
Makes waiting for it, worth every mile.
Your presence alone, revitalizes me whole,
A face like the cool moon, its splendour so,
Makes the radiant sun jealous, even at noon,
Oh! What a sight to behold, you really are,
Elegance and eloquence personified,
A princess in her right, a queen in mine.
I had already fallen so hard for her, yet,
When I saw her then, I never knew I’d fall,
Harder than I ever imagined, a bottomless
Pit of pure love, Oh! I beg to be saved,
Before my futile attempts get laid to waste.
Those looks of her, look heavenly made,
Paired with expressions, complement her serenade.
Where she comes from, songbirds happily wade,
An emerald swan comes, her mischievous glare,
So pure, that whenever she comes, she always clears the air.
