The Edge of Unraveling

wilting in the harsh rays of life,

i search for the key to my own door.

fed up with the endless worrying-

a dark cloud settles over me.

i kneel beneath the weight of sorrow,

as voices strike from the top of their lungs.

the sound chills my heart,

as if the heavens themselves have turned cold,

bringing me

to the edge of unraveling.
