The Edge Of Doom

The terror has passed but the leaves are still dead;

The silence is defeaning.

As I walk on the shards of broken dreams and the wrecked homes

And reminisce about the lies from your sordid tongue,

I untie the knots you engraved in my mind.

You led me on a game of chase until the ashes turned grey,

I look down on the ground, the blood stains my feet,

The blood of the innocent.

You had the world at your shoe,

While I was trampled upon;

While I paid a price for your mistakes,

You lived on my long haul.

You ask me why I protest?

You have the audacity to ask me that while I stand on the edge of doom.
