THE EARTH WITHIN

The wind does not choose where it will blow,

it travels far, through valley and snow,

whispering secrets of earth and sky,

touching every living thing passing by.

We build our roads and pave the ground,

mark our territories, claim our crown;

forgetting that beneath our feet,

lies the same soil that makes us complete.

The forest stands like a quiet choir,

feeding the air we breathe and require;

it asks no payment, demands no praise,

yet holds the world through sunlit days.

We take its timber, drink its springs,

dig deep for gold and hidden things,

as if the earth is only made,

to serve our wants, our endless trade.

But look closer: see how the vein,

of river flows through hill and plain;

the same life stirs in branch and bone,

the same warm light in flesh and stone.

We did not come to rule this sphere,

but to belong, to love, to revere;

for every tree that falls or fades,

a part of our own spirit wades.

So let us walk with open hands,

treat every leaf and wave as friends;

for nature is not far or apart,

it is our home, our soul, our heart.
