The Dreaming Star

By Faiyaz Takrim

She lingers where the sky turns dusk to flame,

A dreaming star, aloof yet laced with grace.

Too far for touch, too near to not inflame-

She charts the silence written on my face.

Her light reworks the roads I used to know,

Like wind reshapes the dunes it leaves behind.

No heaven burns with such internal glow-

She is the myth the other stars can't find.

But though she lifts me, still I walk alone,

Her glow a guide I'm fated not to reach.

She changed my voice to echoes not my own,

A softer fire behind each word I speak.

She knows me not, yet still defines my name-

A distant sun I orbit, lost in flame.
