The Disaster Day

I planned my day to be neat and perfect

But adventures showed up with great effect

I set alarm at six and put it next to bed

But I woke up late as the alarm was dead

I tripped on my dog and made a fall

I got up only to make my way into wall

I cracked eggs too fast only to watch with dismay

As they spattered the floor with grand display

I spilled the coffee on my favorite dress

The stain tells a story of my morning mess

My car broke down so I chased the bus

I slipped on banana, caused a great fuss

I walked straight into the office glass door

My glasses went flying and crashed on floor

At breaktime, I tried to introduce a colleague to a friend

But I drew a blank on their name, ignominy to no end

At lunch, I squeezed ketchup the wrong way

And that landed on a stranger by going astray

On my way back home, I helped a boy who fell

But I ended up snapping his sheeny cycle bell

I worked all night to make my presentation complete

When the power went out, I incidentally hit delete

From dawn to dusk, disasters played their trade

Yet it was worth to live life in every shade
