The Day He Passed

Gasping for air, Oh My! Oh My!
Like a blink, the whole life gone by.
Resentments held decades old,
Roses with thorns, sentiments of gold.
Chances twice and thrice knocked on,
Subtle yet promising life led on.
Oh Rose! Why so melancholy ?
What has made you droop today?
Love is mystique, ocean unfolded,
Hunger in the eyes and thirst on the lips.
Aching heart yearning love,
Like a pair of separated dove.
Strange is man truly, I say!
When time permits, cruel he stays.
Clock ticks away leaving him weak,
Frustrated and isolated, he bereaves.
A golden phase in life to be drunk,
From the lips of a golden cup.
For time never remains the same,
But does man realize often?
Arms held open, waiting for yours,
Touch my soul with yours !
Nothing more divine than this,
Two souls meeting, a divine bliss!
Quarrels, anger suppressed inside,
Old stories kept playing again.
Silence and time reminded me,
Patience, a virtue long forgotten.
Doubts and suspicion burn a house,
Distance, a treacherous prison.
Half- torn hearts desiring each other,
Each one knows the other.
Rushed and anger, blames and flames,
Now no more rustic games.
Silent prayers passing my lips,
Let the soul depart with peace.
Once more, he clutches my hand,
Drags it towards his chest.
His eyes meet my gaze again,
A confession so brutal and fearless.
Nothing to hide, it’s all bare,
Soul shall depart, what is the delay?
Tears brimming up our eyes,
Stormiest seas have never seen.
Harder he clasps, gazing at my lips,
Touch of life, I deliver with bliss.
“More” he whispers softly to me,
Our tongues don’t stop with tears swelling.
Yes! It’s hard for me to let go,
Let’s quarrel again to encash for life.
One last breath , our memories flash,
“Love you” he murmurs, holding my gaze.
“Love you more” I slowly reply,
He closes his eyes with a deep sigh.
Kissing his face one last time,
“I will be there with you in a short while”.
He doesn’t turn to see me now,
He doesn’t get offended to hear me say so.
Shattered inside, I seek his breath,
In silence, departed his soul..
