The Cost Of Memories
By Kristy Saikia
The line between
‘remembering’ and
‘missing’ often becomes blurry.
Memories turn into punishment.
Forgetting becomes challenging,
and nostalgia suddenly turns bitter.
Waves of guilt crash on us,
whenever we remember.
Haunted by our past,
we stain our present.
Memories are both
curses and boons.
