The Claws of a Shadow
A shadow looms
As the light dims
It slowly creeps
Its target
Your mind
Like a predator
Prowling on the hunt
It circles
And creeps in
Slowly,
Steadily,
And pounces!
Before you know it,
You’re in its clutches
The suffocating pressure
Sucking your very breath
You thrash
And kick
In utter desperation!
Fighting for your very breath
Even as you lose
Yourself
To the claws of
A predator!
Out to swallow you
In its deepest
And darkest
Shadows!
