The Classic Routine

There’s things I must do,

Then there’s things that I’ve done.

But from the list of to-do’s,

There seem to be none.

I’ve papers to sort,

A pretty large stack.

I’ll get to them soon,

Right after a snack.

I’ve had my snack now,

Maybe I’ll rest.

And when I wake up,

I’ll give it my best.

My room seems untidy,

And so I feel stressed.

Once I’ve cleaned it,

I won’t be depressed.

Now it’s all tidy,

Much effort did it take.

After all that,

I deserve me a break.

Maybe I should see,

What’s happening up online.

Should be alright,

I’ve got some spare time.

Half the day’s done,

But to reach my goals I strive.

Maybe I’ll chill for now,

And start again at Five.

My chill sesh now done,

Had my fair share of fun.

I could start now,

But it’s five O’ one!

The stack it’s still rising,

Adding to my sorrow.

But the day’s basically over.

So I’ll just start from tomorrow.

I should go to bed soon,

But its early and I’m bored.

Maybe I’ll watch some TV,

Just one more episode.

Few hours ago, I should’ve slept,

But that show was just too nice.

I watched too many episodes,

And now I’ll rest my eyes.

I should’ve spent my day much better,

Not, indulged to my delight.

Well, I hope I’ll do much better tomorrow,

For now, I say goodnight.

In this poem I’ve written,

My friends you will find.

The complex inner workings,

Of a procrastinator’s mind.
