The Changing Tide
By Dakshan Kora
once they laughed in open fields
chasing their dreams on spinning wheels
hands held tight with heart soar free
world of wonder wild and breezy
time forwards with a steady phase
soft cheeks now show its trace
voices deepen smiles turn sky
questions arise as they ask why
rules once followed now debated
voices strong yet complicated.
walls they build, yet seek embrace,
dance of distance, love and space
Once they ran to greet the day,
Now they pause, and look away,
Yet in their eyes, a spark remains
A soul still young, just rearranged.
The city trembled, torn in two,
As whispers spread and chaos grew.
Mark Anthony, with fire in speech,
Turned grief to rate, revenge in reach
A war was waged, the throne was lost,
Their treachery came with heavy cost.
Fell those who struck with cruel deceit
Met the Hades, their doom complete
So, power turns like shifting sands,
A fleeting grasp, a fragile hand.
For Rome may rise and rules reign,
But fate is the decider of who must stay.
