The Broken Screen Of My Mobile

The broken screen of my mobile

has more stories to tell

than I could ever put in words…

The small crack that you see at the bottom left corner,

Can't forget how drunk I was that the phone became a ninja and slipped out of my hand!

it was UD's birthday!

the day we jammed till 12,

and boozed till 4,

and puked till 6

and... let's not get into further details!

That moon shaped crack near the front cam.

What a crazy day it was!

A deadline and an almost dead phone

and yours truly fighting both!

The clock ticked to two and

I clicked Submit

and the joy of hitting the bull's eye,

made me forget of the tiny entity in my lap

and all that happiness soon made way for tears

'cz of breaking the selfie cam,

thinking my pouts would have to wait for

a few days to spread their signature sass again!

Oh! the tiny crack somewhere on the corner,

tells the tale of this messy girl,

how I tripped over nothing

and boom! there it was.

And then the ones that I got when I threw my phone instead of the paper ball,

and when I slept over my own mobile,

and in the metro when it fell from my bag,

and the endless cracks from the endless falls that happen every other day…

The broken screen of my mobile

has more stories to tell

than I could every put in words. . .

And see, how it is lying today,

pieces apart, shattered totally

'cz when the giver makes an exit

a gift too should leave from life.

and so the final cracks on the screen

will always tell the story

of the cracks that appeared in our relationship

but none of us could ever see.

And all that will ever remain

will be a shattered screen.
