The Boy With A Golden Heart

There was this boy,

With a golden heart.

He was the smartest

and full of life

His mother, she loved him

Atleast that is what it seemed

Till he made one mistake

'You are worthless

Worse that dead'

His mother, she said

It was then

The boy, he realised

His hardwork, it was nothing

His glorious glory

It was just for a show

He tried harder and

the harder he tried

The more tired he got

But the terror was

Way too bigger

And rest was not

Worth the shot

All the other kids

Oh! How joyfully they played

And called the boy to do the same

But the boy

He was trapped in his own chains

“Oh boy!

Would you not come out with your toy?”

But all he could do was lie

“My dear mother

She is sick”

For he knew, if he did not

He would be beaten with sticks

He flew out some paper planes

To tell others that inside he is dying

But despite his efforts

No one could or would care

About his cryings

One night

Frustated with his life

He ran out of that house

His mother, she cried

“Catch that dirty mouse!”

He ran up the stairs

And jumped up to the railing

Behind he could hear

His mother’s wailing

“Stop or else-”

He screamed out loud

For the world to hear

“Or else what?

From now on, it is you I no longer fear”

He said

“Please do shout!

But I don’t care

Tonight is my night!

Tonight I will finally attain my happiness back!

Tonight I will fly”

Hearing this his mother let out a cry

“Please don’t boy!

Forgive the sins that made I”

But it was too late

He already took the leap

Leaving the devil to weep.

Soon, the angels he joined

And watched over the demon

That stole his joy

That made him cry

The very reason he lied

The very reason he died
