The Bird that flew away

I tried wooing a bird

That we once flocked together.

The bird was the prettiest from the lot,

She was distinctive from the murmuration.

She got those eyes of attraction,

And beauty of satisfaction.

But she has been wooed,

Wooed by cockbird better than me.

I shan’t go to someone’s nest

It will be a protocol breach.

I am to take the other road,

To break off from the flock

And my mind be set free.

If I see the bird again,

It will be a turn of destiny.

Like a bird that flew away,

I got to let go now

And wait for a new dawn.
