The BIG Picture
By Rishabh Jain
“Where do you see yourself in 5 years from now?” “How ambitious are you?” “How do you manage your time?”
These are some typical questions which every other IT professional must have come across in some interview or the other in his career and so do have I. These questions which talk about your future – your engagements – your desires – your ambitions. But how many of us actually answer what is there in our hearts? Do we really speak the truth?
I believe today’s youth has become impatient and needs everything to be done in a jiffy. Whether it be a promotion or career growth or any improvements which they want in their personal or professional fronts. We keep worrying about too many things in life today, where the social media also contributes to more harm than good in certain cases. But the beauty of the matter is - that the questions which life puts across to us and whose answers we keep searching for, in the dim hope of salvation is tricky. The moment you find your true answer – Life changes the question. That’s the key I want to share with you in order to manage this most important project for each one of us called - LIFE.
In my stint so far, what I have seen and learnt – Go with the flow and make the best possible decisions in the hour of the need. Do not stress yourself away and plan too much for your life achievements, milestones, bucket-list to be ticked off, and places to visit before you die and so on. As none of us really likes to be micromanaged even at our workplaces, why do we keep micro managing our lives every now and then? Is it really called for? The answer is No.
The best way to manage this Life project - is not to worry about the future and focus on self-improvement, up-skilling and seizing the opportunity as and when it comes to you. Do not be too worried about seeing the end before it appears. As people say, enjoy the journey and not the destination. See the bigger picture, paint a brighter canvas and be a better artist!
As correctly said by Winston Churchill - "Let our advance worrying become advance thinking and planning." And in my own words, how I see things and like to manage my life project is by believing in – Today is the tomorrow you were worried about yesterday, and it is beautiful. So why worry?
