The Best Thank you

The post midnight was so hush seeking serenity from civil society. The moon attempting to illuminate the world pushing through the opaque clouds. Crickets and Katydids minding their own secret conversations.

“Ahem!!!” She coughed to gain his attention, but in vain. “Ahem ahem.” She again tried.

“Are you ok? Shall I send a signal to our girl to drink some water?” Finally he responded, a slight concern in his tone.

“No, no need to disturb her. I am fine.” Her quick response was followed by an hum. “Brain, are you busy?” She asked peeking at him through the small throat hole. He halted his process of data entering and directed his full attention on her.

“I was, but not now.” He reflexed his tired nerves.

“Then why are you awake?” She again posed a question. He chuckled acknowledging her ignorance.

“We have been in the same body for 25 years, yet you don’t have knowledge about me. A human brain never sleeps at night, instead it recalls the whole day incidences and stores the important ones.” He finished.

“Neither I sleep.” She murmured with embarrassment on his statement.

“I know it since the day I got formed, If you sleep she would sleep forever, heart. I know it all. For your reminisce I am the master mind,” Hearing his pride filled voice the heart raised in anger.

Result of which their girl work up getting disturbed. With difficulty heart calmed her beat and their girl went back to sleep.

“I called you to say- heart started but brain stopped her, “I know, to scold me since I with my super memory recalled the issues our girl had with her best friend, resulted in their big fight.” Heart sighed in annoyance.

“No, I was about to- again heart started to get stopped by brain, “I am damn sure now why, to argue with me regarding her failed love life which I recalled accidentally.” Heart lost its patience,

“No brain.” Heart felt it’s beat raise slowly building an anger.

“Wait! Aha!!! I got it. To lecture me that any subject, to read without understanding using my memory is of trash, they are destructive since today she forgot half of the answers in anxiety.” Heart went under silence for 2 or 3 seconds to control its emotions, using the time of which brain again started his guessing.

“Don’t you dare utter a word, brain. It's a warning.” Brain got shocked while their girl again woke up disturbed and drank some water which somehow cooled the two emotional organs, she went back to sleep.

“To thank you.” Heart finally spilled.

“Huh!!!” Brain couldn’t believe what it is receiving.

“I called you to say thank you. Thank you for sharing my responsibility. Thank you for being there by my side for the whole life. Though I am the eldest you are the smartest. Thank you so much for saving me from heavy hurts and wounds with your cautiousness. Without you I would have been severely broken into pieces and dead by now internally. Thank you for being my partner in taking care of our girl. I am so grateful to you, brain.” Heart smiled at brain for the very first time in their life. Brain felt overwhelmed hearing heart.

“Hey, wait.” Brain called, gaining heart’s attention. “You know who is more important among us? It is you. Even the brainless human can survive not the heartless one. Because love unites everyone which is given by you. I know it has been a tug of war between us, always. But without you I know I cannot survive. Thank you for stopping me from hurting others with my cleverness and sharpness. So thank you.” Brain said sincerely. “Now get some rest, bye.” Brain went back to its work.

No hour as serene as dusk, no hour as vibrant as dawn. On a vibrant morning she went for shopping and selected two dresses, “Which one to select?” She murmured to herself darting her eyeballs between red salwar and grey shirt and pant. “The red” “The grey.” She got two different answers from her heart and brain.

“You love red.” Her heart justified her answer.

“But it is an official meeting, you can’t go there wearing such bright colors.” She sighed in annoyance hearing the brains retort.

“God!!! Why can’t you both stop your fights?” she mentally scolded her two essential organs. Hearing which her heart and brain looked at each other and an automated smile made its way.

“Look over there.” Her brain gave her a signal. And there laid open a grey salwar with the touches of red roses. Even she got surprised.

“Best information I ever got from my brain.” She strode towards the dress.

That is how a ‘thank you' changed the whole life pattern of two remarkable beings.

A thank you has the power to initiate a new bond, strengthen an old bond and correct a corrupted bond. Showing gratitude is too essential like our breathing.
