The Best Kind of Love

Texting you every day

Laughing at the silly jokes we made

I was wondering how it would be if we grew up

How wonderful it would be

When you fly to my city

And you'll pick me up, we'll go to Faraway Mystery

I thought my first love was someone else

But every glimpse at you

And I feel that prickle

Of a thousand needles

Burying themselves in my heart

When I realized how beautiful my love

And the devotion we held at so young

But the worst kind of torture

Was watching us fall apart

I still have our chats open

Unused for months

And we come to this weird epiphany

That promises of eternity

Only exist in the novels I write

The poems I can’t recite

Its ludicrous to even say that I could ever replace you

You were my secret diary

Someone who knew every aspect of me entirely

You saw what lies beneath the skin

And you held me everytime I felt like leaving

But I promise to hold on for you

Because one day you and I

We'll meet by chance

Like those novels I write

Hoping that we get our own reunion

One day and I can finally let you know

I didn't need to fall in love

To know it is you I truly loved

You were my best friend

You were my brother

That I mourn the loss of

I'll keep writing to you

Till the day I die

Because we will perish on the soil

We both live in

Perhaps not in this lifetime

But in death we shall be together again
