The Answer

By Clark Call

Your life flashes before your eyes

No pain in sight, only time

All the while you hear whispers

Softer than any touch or whisker

It may be your loved ones that surround you

Or it's just me, speaking only to you

I say, “let's start at the beginning

Your parents loved and made you

They loved each other

Just as we do

We are a part of everything we do and see

Between you and me

You've been asleep for so long

We are glad you stayed so strong

You dreamed you created

You dreamed you destroyed

You dreamed we were happy

You dreamed we were sad

You dreamed we sometimes got mad

But now it's time you came home

Although you made a small one along the way

While some left, while others stayed

You continued sound asleep, unaware of the future

But let's look at what you lived for

Shining past you, into the twilight

Far beyond the distant starlight

Let's go somewhere beyond human comprehension

A place called reality

The universe, the aura, the alpha, the omega

The spirit that bonds everything together

Yet we seek it not

But it loves us a lot

You see, this is what everyone wants

To touch this love

This feeling, this comfort, this raw emotion

Deeper than any ocean

Very few believed to have found it in life

Until they are dying, on their last breathe

Did you? Did you find such a meaning?

… I see

That was the answer I was fearing

But the day is nearing

And you are no longer breathing

But fear not, for you were loved

No matter what, I will love you

I am not a god, just reality

The universe, the aura, the alpha and omega

We all mess up

And that's okay, just make sure you have a way

A pathway higher, to me, in the distant universe

In the twilight, far beyond the starlight

Wake up
