The Anchor of Life's Progress

Do not lean on my kindness,

because to do so would be like leaning on a spider's web -

even though it was made for a catch,

you will fall.

Rather lean on the consistency of pain and suffering -

who has been disappointed by them?

Ask the pregnant woman

if she has been disappointed after her labour pains,

or the man who exercises vigorously

if their pain is in vain.

Even though you have enjoyed my light,

I am as invisible as the sun -

and none dare to look at me long enough

to form a bond. My words are an island

and dwell in unapproachable light.
