The Actor
By Jinson Joseph
Some characters are like him in a show.
Even he doesn’t know what’s his role,
which genre he belongs to.
Lets call him 'director's fun'.
When he entered the stage
others looked and smiled at him.
He thought he is the lead,
not of the stage, but to 'others'.
Whenever they wanted to smile
they came to his nearby.
He tried to make them smile,
they came to him again and again.
They went backstage after those smiles.
One in a scene is no more in the act.
There were better actors behind the stage.
'Why were they so?' he didn’t know.
He later saw a cone over him,
a red small ball at the tip of his nose.
Colours were there on his face.
It was a fun to see him on stage.
It took time to realise that
he wasn’t the lead in the act.
He couldn't differentiate smile and laughter.
He know it now, he is the joker.
He could make many laughs
Applauds were for the fun around him.
No one saw the actor behind the role
who can cry, but no one bats an eye.
Not easy to accept the fact but
the show must go on and go on.
Cones and colours were ready.
He went on, all set for next scene.
