Thawed Passion

A girl was born on a bitter cold dawn,
Bringing with her sunshine and warmth
There was overwhelming support and most all,
A passion for something thawed
Living within her icy december heart.
On the surface she had an ordinary life,
definity meant for fulfilment
But never to fly to places unknown
What restricted her greatness?
It was neither her circumstance
Nor the lack of fire to melt the ice
There was just this simple rhythm...
Everyone, including herself would fall into
It was a small world with small expectations
Where grandeur was an object of admiration,
And not a dream ever thought of.
The only bound she had to break
Was to realise—
Just because she had everything picture perfect
Didn't mean she couldn't go above and beyond
To reach where her fire would ignite
Leaving her haven never meant she didn't belong
But that her town would celebrate her regardless
And never compel her to sacrifice the extraordinary
She just had to realise that
She could fly high
Without having to go into exile
And when she reached the pinnacle,
Only to come home to the cacophony of warmth,
She learned that the top wasn't that far off afterall.
