That Girl

By Billy Johnson

I used to be an average man.

Maybe less than average is true.

Whatever the challenge, I think I can.

Still finding it hard to do.

I knew there was greatness hidden inside.

But it almost seemed like a ghost.

It was hard to find. It would always hide.

Just when I needed it most.

But a miracle came in a new age letter.

I had caught this woman's eye.

I had no idea she'd make me better.

So I almost didn't try.

That girl I met is more than a dream.

She's more than a dream to me.

So when we met, our eyes had a gleam.

And each other was all we could see.

That girl is lovely. She's wise and kind.

I have a lot yet left to say.

She's quirky, loquacious,  and almost Devine.

And I love her dearly that way.

That girl is brilliant but humble, too.

She's truly the love of my life.

That girl is sexy from head to shoe.

I'm going to make her my wife.

That girl is strong with curvy hips.

But gentle is her way.

A lovely face with luscious lips.

She always makes my day.

I tell you, now I'm a better soul.

All because of that girl.

I'll reach my goals, my life is whole.

I'll make this a better world.

That girl and I are so in love.

Our love will never change.

That girl is pure just like a dove.

But she's still a little strange.

That's why I love her. She's like no other.

That girl I'll love for life.

That girls my confidant and lover.

Someday, she will be my wife.

That girl, that girl is my true love.

That girl is the greatness in me.

She changed my path from below to above.

Was blind but now I see.
