That feeling’s alright

the dark is something sweet and forbidden

it is a temptation

one you often give in to

like a piano playing underwater

you scream but you don't really want to be heard

you find something you wanted

something you needed

something you want to have repeated

this feeling's alright

mind heavy and heart light

for once,

disregard the sunshine falling on you bright

oh, this feeling's alright

how different are you in the dark?

do you drop your guard along with your clothes

or does your makeup still show

do you throw your arms up and sway to the stillness

or do you lay wide awake staring into nothingness

do you take a moment and savor the peace

or does it feel like your life's still missing a piece

do you let yourself become all shades of grey

or do you fall on your knees, beg for forgiveness and pray

tune out the bright

and give in to the dark

it accepts you

it welcomes you

it makes you

it becomes you

the dark calls you

and you often answer

oh that feeling's alright
