Tell Me About My Childhood

Tell me mother,

When did you stop singing lullabies to me

And when did you stop feeding me?

Tell me mother,

Why did you stop singing lullabies to me

And why did you stop feeding me.

Was it me growing up ?

Or you  getting old ?

Or  Was it the when you became parents to a another new Born ?

Was it when my childhood ended ,

On a random Sunday like a habit you forswarn ?

 Tell me father,

When  did you stop carrying me on your shoulder

And when did I stop being your little princess .

Tell me father,

Why did you  stop carrying me on your shoulder

And why did I stop being your little princess

Was is it me growing up ?

Or you  growing old ?

Or Was it you becoming parents to another new Born ?

Was it when my childhood ended,

On a random Sunday  like a habit you forswarn ?

Perhaps it was you becoming parents again ,

Getting to raise a kid,

Now with practice

And after learning your mistakes .

Perhaps it was when my childhood ended,

Even though you said I’d always be a kid for you both.

But now we discuss my career and my  mistakes,

Instead of who I love more,

By the very same door.

Loved this! "Was it me growing up ?

Or you  getting old ?"

As a mom of kids who are getting older, that made me emotional.
