Remember this?
the slant of light shining on your face,
gleaming of your beauty.
remember this.
the gust of breeze grazing past your open hair,
enveloping my fingers with silky confidence.
remember this.
the uncanny misstep you took as you walked,
bursting into laughter engulfing the atmosphere.
remember this.
would you think of me?
blushing as I looked at you walking past.
would you think of me?
mesmerized in your fleets of passionate talk.
if only I told myself that it was temporary
I would no longer ask
remember this?
Deep fakes and Shallow truths
I’m lonely for you.
You’re a stranger to me.
I don’t want you to be,
but it’s nothing to you.
I feel the pain of our distance,
And my heart binds itself to separation.
My eyes freeze my tears,
waiting for you to come by my thoughts again.
Sadness is but a choice,
but without you, it seems to be fuel.
Fuel to the desire to be better,
only better enough for us to be one again.
But if you have taught me anything-
It’s that, memories last and feelings don’t.
And how easy it is to cherish once and forget forever,
And folly into loving others before knowing ourselves.
Sweating in the Winter
Your name has kept me warm this winter.
Your memories kept my eyes moist.
Your lips got me thirsty and
Your eyes had me searching.
Wherever you are, I hope you know,
I’m waiting for your goodbye.
It left me incomplete and awake;
Questioning our time,
Trying my heart.
I lose track of the time it took
To forget our memories,
I lose track of the tears it took
to stop looking for you.
Your name has kept me warm this winter.
Your memories kept my eyes moist.
Your lips got me thirsty and
Your eyes had me searching.
Wherever you are, I hope you know,
I’m waiting for your goodbye and My heart aches to embrace your reasons.
