Hi, in today's blog I have tried to express my opinion about the survival of the fittest. We all are here to survive, we all are here to live our dreams; we all tried to influence others from our thoughts which are really different from others. But, still we try to convince others because we want to survive. Every day there is an evolution. Technology is at its boom and each day there is something new coming up. People are learning new sets of skills, new techniques to impress this world and leaving the others behind who are not upgrading themselves with new technology. Now this world is all about Artificial Intelligence.
All the work which was once performed by humans is now performed by machines. We all are surrounded by the machines and using these machines starting from dawn to dusk. But, just give a thought that if machines are going to do everything, what will be the significance of human life. The best example of a machine is cell phones which we are using in our daily life and we all know that after some time the advanced version of cell phones are coming with new updates. In the same manner we have to update our knowledge, our skills to remain in this world. Otherwise, our condition will be the same as Nokia. We all know that Nokia used to rule over other cell phones. But, in today’s scenario Nokia market share has declined because it has not adapted to the changes. The biggest mistake which was done by Nokia was that when Samsung entered the market with new technology it did not upgrade its techniques. The biggest reason for the failure of Nokia was that it did not come out with a dual sim technique; it did not come out with an android version, and lacked innovation in products. What will we say to this, the company which has the capability to rule over the market collapse because it has not updated itself? Yeah, this is the reason for Nokia's failure.
The same concept applies to us, if we want to survive in this world then we also have to update ourselves in each and every field whether it is relevant or not. I know to update ourselves in each and every field which is not relevant to our occupation is not possible but we can try to learn something new every day so that we can update ourselves and compete in this world which is changing at a very tremendous speed daily.
Let me share with you a small story. This story is already read by most of us but this story is actually a lesson which helps us to live our life and explains this concept of Survival of the fittest.
Once upon a time there was a kingdom where most people were woodcutters. The Kingdom had a major portion of the youth population but there was a person who was very old in age besides all of them. But he cuts the maximum amount of wood in a day. All the other people who were cutting the trees felt very complex about how this old man could cut maximum trees every day.
They all were shocked but could not say anything. One fine day this news whispered in the king’s ear and he called the old man in his Raj Mahal and asked the old man what is the difference in your axe that you cut more trees than others. The old man replied, “Almighty there is nothing different in my axe. It's just that it’s my regular practice, my regular routine and my set of skills that helped me in cutting more trees. The king announced a competition that anyone in the kingdom who will cut more trees than the old man will be awarded with gold and precious stones. After listening to this news, the youth members of the kingdom participated in the competition. The D-day arrived, and all the people including the old man came to the forest to cut the trees. When the competition started all the people started cutting wood at a high speed but the old man was cutting the trees at his normal speed because he was very old and his energy can’t match the young age people. After some time he went to his home and took a rest of around one hour and came back. Everyone including the king thought that this old man would not win this competition as he already wasted one hour during the competition. But, when the competition ended the maximum trees cut by any person was 20 followed by 16. When the result was announced all were shocked that the maximum number of trees was cut by the same old man i.e. 20. Now all were eager to know that how’s that possible he had already wasted his one hour still he could cut maximum trees. Now, it’s time for the old man to reveal the secret of his winning streak. He said, “Almighty I already told you that my regular practices; my regular routine helped me in winning this competition. Now he further added that dear king I have been cutting trees for more than 50 years. I have attained perfection in cutting these trees and the second reason of success is that one hour which I took as a rest was not actually any rest. It was the time when I sharpen the edges of my axe so that it can help me in cutting maximum trees. The king was impressed with his answer and gave the reward to him as decided.
Now the message which I wanted to convey is that if you want to survive in this world then you need these things which are as perfection, adaptation to change and developing new set of skills. In my story, the old man had perfection in cutting trees due to vast experience and set of skills, his mindset to sharpen the edges of his axe daily.
Now we have two ways to live our life:
Thanks
