Summer of 12'

The childhood that I want to go back to,

Is also waiting for me.

It’s waiting so patiently

With its hands between its thighs and wide glassy eyes.

In the night it cries itself to sleep

And wakes up with a hint of haze and heave.

I watch as it forces itself to say goodbye,

Throughout the day, to the friends that it likes.

I only hope it doesn't say goodbye to me.
