Summer Holidays

By Archismita Das

From May to June

It’s so much fun.

Now the summer holidays

Have officially begun.

Swimming in the pool

The water’s just right

I wish it were like this forever

All day and night.

Though summertime has many good things,

Like cool icecream on a hot summer day,

There must still be some flows

Or we’d never enjoy the good ones all the way.

Things like heatwaves and droughts

May happen from time to time

Though they aren’t that common,

Sometimes they cross the time.

Powercuts are another thing

I absolutely hate.

But in summer they are so common,

They’re like my nightmares served on a plate.

With so many benefits and flaws,

We are bound to make

The Best memories ever known

Where having fun is a piece of cake
